“Life at the Border” is a  National Institute of Mental Health’s reference book and has been on their recommended reading list since 1992. It was referenced in the book “Cognitive Therapy of Borderline Personality Disorder” by Drs. Layden and Newman. It was also recommended by motivational speaker Zig Ziglar in his book “Over the Top” (pages 235-237). 

 Dr. Heller’s three main goals for this book: (1) To help borderlines and their loved ones understand that the illness is biological and treatable. (2) To give borderlines and their loved ones the facts. (3) To show borderlines how to get well.
